The Sioux City Public Museum seeks to explore and preserve the history of the region through a series of exciting displays and artifacts. The first floor of the museum is the original library of the Peirce Mansion, extensively renovated in the 1920s, but now furnished with 19th century antiques indicative of the era. The second floor houses the natural history section of the museum and features a wide variety of specimens of the regions flora and fauna. The museum is located within walking distance of Leif Erickson Park and Hubbard Park, north of the city.
