The Sioux City Art Center was originally built in 1938 as a project for the Works Progress Administration and is only one of four surviving WPA arts buildings that has been continuously open since its creation. Today, the center contains a Midwest art collection that focuses on the artists who capture the regions unique cultural and visual aesthetics. The museum is located across the river from Nebraska's Scenic Park Campground in the downtown area.
